Discussion Arhus Town Hall Commentary

"The town hall consists of a main block with the representative premises such as the Council Chamber and the Great Hall and, at right angles to it, a five-storey office block which houses all the administrative offices. These are accessible from indoor galleries along an oblong glass-roofed court. The original project by Jacobsen and Moller, awarded the First Prize in the 1937 design competition, did not include a tower. But the architects had to comply with the wishes of the citizens, and erected a tower in the form of an open reinforeced concrete frameword in which a set of bells is suspended."
